As part of our work in challenging the status quo through continuous learning, inclusive leadership and purposeful teamwork, we have the greatest honor partnering with a new client, Marietta High School (MHS) in the metro Atlanta area, as they demonstrate their commitment to work for justice, disrupt inequity, understand and appreciate diversity, and improve inclusion.
What we are learning about this work:
- It starts with self-awareness – recognizing that each of us has a different lens, work style and set of experiences that we bring.
- It takes a village of willing and committed individuals to consider what’s possible and embrace the power of collective change.
- It’s always a learning and sharing journey – for our clients and ourselves. This work requires deep self-reflection, awareness about the judgments we make, and the commitment to share our new perspectives and practices with others.
We are so fortunate to partner with an incredibly talented and thoughtful leader, Principal Keith Ball, the Core Team (Marvin Phinizy, Brandi Smith, Brenda Espinoza, Alisha Wyche Green, Jen Brock, Kim Blass and Lucena Ross), and the MHS Leadership Team on this transformative journey. We’re also grateful to Dr. Grant Rivera, Marietta City Schools Superintendent and the entire Marietta City Schools Board for their support and commitment this to this work.
We are sharing this short inspirational video created by MHS teachers, administrators and staff demonstrating their commitment to Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (J.E.D.I.).
At Clearwater Consulting, our philosophy on appreciating diversity and embodying inclusion starts with creating safe and liberating environments for inquiry and curiosity, so we can fully appreciate each other, challenge biases and be open to different perspectives.
How are you shifting mindsets, broadening perspectives and challenging bias in your organization? We would love to hear from you!
